About these quilts...
All of these quilts were created with the participation of many people - from those who helped collect the clothing from desert trails, wash the clothes, come up with the concepts, to those who finally sew them together.
This type of art is called Social Practice. It is art that necessitates the involvement of community, and imagines opportunities for communities to come together in new ways.
